The Connections Campaign

Two partners,
one table

Designed together by the Connect Center for Youth and The Generosity Spectrum. We learn in Cohoes, put it to work in our own community, and share it with a national peer learning network.

Ben Williams and nonprofit leaders playing the Generosity Roundtable card game around a table at National Harbor

From Cohoes to National Harbor

A local table, a national network

We brought Ben to National Harbor to play the Generosity Roundtable with leaders from across the country. That table is how Ben was invited into the GivingTuesday community network, and how this work now connects to national initiatives like the Technology Association of Grantmakers.

How it works

What happens when you show up

It's more than a game night. It's an evening where people find their community and discover why they give. Here's how one table leads to the next.

Step 1 of 6

You show up

You come for an evening. No pitch, no guilt trip, no ask waiting at the door. There's an empty chair at every table, and it's an invitation.

↻ Then it starts again, with a better table every time.

Local stories

Small acts, named out loud

Volunteers stocking a table with juice boxes, pasta and pantry staples at the Connect Center food pantry

The pantry that keeps the shelf full

Every week, volunteers restock bags with pasta, juice and household staples. One full bag can turn a hard week into a quiet one.

A backpack that fits

Every fall, the backpack program hands packed bags to local kids. One student checked every pocket and walked out ready for day one.

Kids running the room

While the adults talked, three kids ran a full game of Clue. That is what a community space is for.

Talent is treasure, and we treasure the people who share it.
